1. Consistency.  The key to training abs is to make sure you are training them consistently even in the off-season.

2. Train Accordingly. If you are a physique athlete and you are trying to keep your waist smaller, be careful do not use heavier weights.  If you are a bodybuilder and you need to add a lot of defintion to your mid-section then you are going to have to move some weight.

3. Peak Week. Do not training your abs too close to the show especially if you havent trained them all season long.  Your body is not use to the contraction. You will cramp up and you will start locking up on stage.
