Raphaela Milagres joined Team Evogen in May 2018 and has blossomed into an incredible IFBB Pro Bikini Athlete since she broke into the sport and won her first overall championship in her home country of Brazil. Raphaela now lives in Florida and runs her own business as a professional trainer and posing coach.

Before bodybuilding, Raphaela had always been into fitness at some level as a hobby and for general health, but she originally began weight lifting at the age of 16. It wasn’t until some gym friends introduced her to the sport that she finally began pursuing bodybuilding herself. She signed up for her first competition at the age of 18, and ultimately earned her Pro card in 2013 at the Arnold Classic South America as the Overall Champion in her division.

Since earning her pro card, Raphaela has continued to outperform many of her competitors, earning numerous 1st and 2nd placings just this year. Her next show is coming in September where Raphaela will be competing at the 2018 Olympia in Las Vegas.

As she prepares to take the Olympia stage, Raphaela plans to focus on building more muscle overall. Q. WHEN DID YOU START WORKING OUT?

A. When I was 16 years old, so 2008.

Q. HOW DID YOU GET INTERESTED IN COMPETING?

A. I started working out as a hobby and to stay healthy. I knew some athletes at my old gym and I got interested in bodybuilding because of them.

Q. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

A. I run my own business, I’m a certified personal trainer and a professional posing coach.

Q. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE EXERCISES?

A. Glute kickback.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BODY PART?

A. Glutes.

Q. WHAT WAS THE FIRST EQUIPMENT YOU TRAINED ON?

A. Probably the Squat Rack.

Q. WHEN DID YOU REALIZE COMPETING WAS YOUR PASSION?

A. When I competed for the first time, I fell in love with the sport and realized it was what I wanted to do.

Q. WHAT DO YOU DO TO PREPARE FOR A SHOW?

A. I try to put my mind in a good place by doing meditation and yoga. I also try to be more organized with my routine; I adjust my cardio as needed, fine tune my diet, posing, etc.

Q. HOW DO YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OFF-SEASON?

A. As an athlete I try to improve some areas of my body, I also enjoy eating some of my favorite foods, and I use my extra calories to train harder. In my personal life I try to work on my business and spend more time with friends and family.

Q. WHO IS YOUR INSPIRATION IN THIS SPORT?

A. Amanda Latona. When I saw Amanda for the first time I fell in love with her stage presence, her body and her overall look. I think she is beautiful and I appreciate her hard work.

Q. HOW HAS COMPETING ENHANCED YOUR LIFE AND HOW DO YOU/WILL YOU USE IT TO IMPROVE THE LIFE OF OTHERS?

A. Competing taught me how to get more disciplined and how to focus on my goals. It showed me that I can accomplish anything with hard work and passion. Competing has also allowed me to reach many people, and motivate and inspire them by sharing my journey and showing people that they can reach their goals with commitment and hard work.

Q. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS THAT WANT TO BREAK INTO COMPETING?

A. First of all, find a coach. It is really hard to evaluate ourselves. Then, you can plan a program together that will work for your goals. A coach will also give you a better perspective of how your body looks, and tell you everything that you have to do to be successful in your shows.

Q. WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHERS INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED WITH A BRAND LIKE EVOGEN?

A. Do your best in everything you do!
