Team Evogen Elite Success Story: Damen Evans

Life hasn’t always come easy for young rising star Damen Evans. As a troubled teenager, he experienced his share of ups and downs. After playing football in college, he injured his ankle tearing ligaments that would prohibit him from playing at a high level. In January 2018, Damen began training again and soon found WESTCA in San Jose. After meeting gym owner Tory Woodward, the two formed a friendship that would prove to be a pivotal moment in the young athlete’s life. In September 2018, Woodward provided Evans with a training and nutrition program to follow. Tory prescribed Evogen Nutrition’s Shred Fast IR stack of Carnigen and Lipocide IR as well as Cell KEM. He immediately began to see results! Shortly thereafter Tory pushed Damen to set a goal to compete in Men’s Physique at the NPC Muscle Evolution in February 2019.

Not longer after settling into his first competition prep, he experienced the ultimate loss in October 2018 after his mother passed away from health complications. Instead of using the obvious excuse to self destruct he did the exact opposite. “I learned that tomorrow is never promised and used my mother’s life as motivation. It was a true turning point in my life to stay positive.” said Evans. A few months later, he stepped on stage for the first time. He won Novice Class D and took 2nd place in Open Class D at 178 lbs.

The WESTCA trained athlete immediately set his sights on the NPC Governor’s Cup in March 2019. After his successful debut, coach Tory Woodward reached out to 19X Olympia winning coach Hany Rambod and introduced Damen to the Team Evogen Elite’s athlete manager who immediately signed him up. A week joining the team, Damen got the chance to be featured in a photoshoot for Evogen’s apparel and train with The Pro Creator and IFBB Men’s Physique Pro Andrei Deiu at Evogen’s Takeover at WESTCA. Rambod took some time to work 1 on 1 with Evans in the group training session. “I really enjoyed training with Damen. I pushed him and he pushed back. He’s got a good look and a great positive attitude which is exactly what I am looking for in a young athlete.”

After adding the full support of Evogen products to the final weeks of his prep, 20 year old Evans went on to win Novice Class C at the Governor’s Cup in Sacramento at 181 lbs. He recently started a full off-season bulking program to put on muscle for the NPC Nationals in November. “I’ve been using a lot of GlycoJect especially on training days where I need to fuel lagging body parts and new Evolog to help me turn my cheat meals into quality gains. With the support of WESTCA and Evogen I’m excited about the package I will be able to bring to my first national show.”

Look for an upcoming video series with Damen and coach Tory Woodward plus cameo appearances with Evogen President/CEO Hany Rambod.
