It’s Showtime!

I’m sitting here at the Phoenix Airport on my way to competing at the Arnold. Soon I will be boarding my flight to Columbus, Ohio where I’ll be stepping on stage with top athletes from around the world. I will also be representing Evogen, which is the company with the best pre- and post-workout supplements on the market. I am proud to be an athlete of Evogen because I saw results on myself using Evogen even before I became an Evogen athlete. Evogen delivers what it promises to provide unlike Read more [...]

    Pushing Through and Balancing Life

It is a week away from the Arnold and I am overcome with mixed emotions of excitement and nerves. Work has been crazy hectic and I’ve been juggling training, meal prep, and being present for all my patients. It hasn’t been easy on days that I’ve had to stay late at the office because of emergency patients that walk in last minute and then getting up early the next morning to train. I also commute 45 minutes each way to work, but when you want something in life, you work hard and you stay Read more [...]

Diet, Discipline and Focus on The Arnold

I am less than three weeks from the Arnold Bikini International, and I still cannot believe how quickly time has flown by. I feel like it was just last week where I was wishing everyone a Happy New Year and now it is already the beginning of February with Valentine’s just around the corner. Speaking of Valentine’s, I’m extremely sad that this year I won’t be indulging in chocolates during this holiday because of contest prep, but I’ll be saving all my chocolate indulges for after the show. Prepping for a great 2012

I’m sitting here sipping on my morning coffee and reflecting on all this coming year is going to bring. I’m extremely excited to be prepping for the first big show of the year, the Arnold Bikini International. I’m currently two weeks into contest prep. Training has been great so far with my energy levels being high with the help of my pre-workout supplement EVP. My muscles have stayed full during workouts, and I’ve gained upper body strength and development over the past few months. Read more [...]

    Almost Showtime!

As the Sacramento Pro shows nears in one week, I can feel myself getting the familiar pre-contest butterflies in my stomach. Doubt slowly begins to creep in my head but this is where I have learned to trust myself and my coach that I will be prepared to shine on the Sac stage. When I walk on that stage, I will be a presentation of my dedication to this sport. The countless hours in the gym, training in the early hours of the morning, detailed attention to nutrition, perfect timing of my Evogen Read more [...]

    Overcoming Challenge

I recently competed at the Olympia and needless to say, the overall outcome was a disappointment for me. I definitely didn’t place the way I had hoped for and was extremely disheartened. But like all champions who have experienced failures in the past, I realize I needed to get up, brush off the dust, and push forward . It’s only with the challenges and failures, I will be able to appreciate the sweetness of success when it comes. Overall, the Olympia was a great experience. I had the Read more [...]

    Final Days to Olympia

Five days until I step onto the Olympia stage! It is a lazy Sunday and I’m taking full advantage of what seems like the calm before I start my work week and then fly to Vegas to compete at my 2nd Olympia.  What a journey this has been for me. It always amazes me how quickly the time chooses to fly by. No doubt, this week will be a week that goes by in a complete blur. This week was filled with challenges forcing me to overcome them in ways that made me grow.    One challenge, is that I’m Read more [...]

    Countdown to Olympia

The two week countdown to Olympia has passed and it’s nearly game time! I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown by. These final weeks are crucial and are the most mentally challenging. As a bikini competitor, there’s always the fine line of stepping on stage too conditioned or not conditioned enough. Being either could make you or break your placement on stage. The struggle I’ve had in the past is overconditioning. I tend to push myself to a point where I begin to break down Read more [...]

    Challenges and Changes

Natalie with good friend and new trainer, Jessica Balzano.

[/caption]This week brought several challenges. I needed to clear my head and focus on my training for Olympia. Positive changes were brought to my prep for Olympia and challenges were given in my dental work week with tough patients that did not want to be in my chair. At the end, overcoming these challenges allowed me to grow personally and professionally. The beginning Read more [...]

    The Road to the Olympia

My goal this past week was a time to figure out my game plan in my approach to prepping for Olympia. Going up against the best of the bikini pros, I definitely needed to increase my focus while maintaining my sanity and stress. This week I had the honor of working with the CEO of Evogen and mastermind, Hany Rambod, who showed me a few excercises to specifically target my booty. I also took a little weekend vacation where temptation to fall off my diet was extreme but I was able to survive. Despite Read more [...]
