Interview with week #3 of the Evogen Nutrition Bikini Model Search Contest, Ryan Duke!

1. What encouraged you to begin competing in bikini competitions?
I have always loved competing in dance and modeling and love working out. But after having my three daughters I decided I wanted my body back and better than ever. Thats where setting a goal of competing stepped in and Ive been hooked ever since.

2. How would you describe your training style?
My training style has varied over the years, I have finally found a perfect balance of cardio and steady weight training 5 days a week. I teach Zumba and dance so the cardio has alwyas been a part of my lifestyle. My fav workout is the stairmill 1 hour a day and leg workouts!!!

3. What changes did you make to your diet in order to compete in bikini?
Big changes took place in my diet when I began to train. I use to think that low or no carbs were the route, but quickly learned without the proper carbs your body doesnt have the fuel they need to produce and change. I started out with lean meats, chicken,fish and greens 6 times a day and it has made a huge difference in my body and over all feeling. Water!!!! Water!!!! Water!!!! Results are endless with the proper nutrition.

4. Based on the experience you have had training and competing, what advice would give to those wanting to give bikini competitions a shot?
My advice to a new competitor is always go in at your best, train hard and the rest will fall into place. You learn something new at every show so being open ready to change and work hard, you will go far!!! Dream big and give 120%!!!!

5. Why do you feel you should be the next Evogen Nutrition sponsored athlete?
I feel I would be a great Evogen spokesperson and athelete because of my passion for the sport and the knowing you can come from overweight to bikini athelete. I enjoy sharing my experience of becoming an athelete and encouraging other woman to chase their dreams no matter the obstacles.
