Taking it all in … and enjoying the victory!

I am truly still on cloud nine as they say, and taking in the title in every day as 2011 Mr. USA. I haven’t even got tired of telling the whole story about the contest experience and all preparation that went into the show, especially the last week. People are always intrigued when I tell them how I generally do things and how drastically my body changes over a few days right before the contest. When someone is really interested, I always enjoy giving him and/or her an ear full.
For the first few days following the contest, I was consumed with photo and video shoots, so I was didn’t immediately have a chance to relax and enjoy the victory. When I got home to Dallas, I was right back to the grind, working at the fire station and catching up with family, friends, and fans that called, text or emailed me. I am always conscious to get back to everyone as soon as I can. I feel if they take the time to call or write me, I will make time to get back to them as soon as I can.
I am blessed to have such great people around me that support me and are as happy as I am about my accomplishments. The Dallas Europa weekend is always the weekend of my birthday, and since the show is in my hometown, I always enjoy hitting the town with everyone in the sport that I love so much. This year the Evogen team made their presence known, with Hany and I partaking in all of the Muscular Development interviews and contest the play-by-play. It was also so much fun to be able to eat and enjoy dinners out without dieting or worried about having to do cardio early in the morning the next morning. I was able to take Hany to some awesome Dallas dining that he is quite fond of … sushi and burgers are two of his favorites. We ate at my two favorite places, Twisted Root Burger and Sushi Axiom, and we ate A LOT!! Saturday night after the show we threw down on some great Texas steaks at the Palms restaurant and had some monster cakes to celebrate the Mr. USA title and an early birthday, which was two days later! I am almost sadden to say that I am nearly sick of chocolate after eating some much chocolate cake over the past week.
My workouts have been even more fun now that I am able to get some food in me…well, maybe a little excess food with all the cake and steak I have been eating! But mix all of that food with the pumps I get from EVP and GlycoJect, and I have been tearing the iron up! I am looking forward to a very productive offseason with Hany and I game planning now to really bring everything up a new level!
