The Final Days!

The past week has been a rough one with packing, prepping, training, and keeping a fine tune on my body. Every day I have sent Hany pictures and we would game plan day to day. Friends in the gym always ask me what I’m doing or what is your plans for the last week and my answer is always the same, “Whatever Hany says!” I arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon and traveling is never easy when you are competing. I had two suitcases, one cooler, and an additional carry-on with more food. All Read more [...]

One Week Out!

Finally, after all the hard work in the gym, dreaded hours and hours of cardio, and what seems to be like times of starvation … its time to put it all together and shine! I really can’t believe that it’s already show time! I could not be more excited and pumped about any other show in my life. This is by far the most focused, motivated, and determined I’ve ever been to step on stage in Las Vegas and dominate. After years and years of preparation, its time to show what all the hard work has Read more [...]

More Fuel for the Fire

So here I am, still in Vegas, working at Gold's Gym Convention... This convention couldn't have come at a better time, because looking at all of the inspiring images, and listening to Gold's Gym representatives share stories of true grit and discipline, just increases my drive to win in the city, where DREAMS COME TRUE... Being so tired and dieting for a long time, this inspiration gives me fuel for my workouts and cardio. I see it over and over again, that your mind is all-powerful, and that Read more [...]

All Work and No Play Makes a Champion!

I am working at the Gold's Gym Convention in Vegas, and today I have meetings booked all day with our franchisees from around the world. I work as an International Manager for Gold's Gym Corporate, and I travel around the world giving sales, operation, marketing and training seminars. This has been a struggle to say the least, working over 12 hours a day and needing to stay in at the absolute top of my game mentally. But I am stronger than excuses, so I will push through. What others see as a Read more [...]

Everything Necessary to Win!

The days to the USA championships in Vegas are getting longer and longer, and I cannot stop dreaming about the day I will actually be on the stage. The last time I step on that stage was one of the happiest and most devastating in my life. After working so hard and going through so much pain, I won my class, but was denied a Pro Card. That day it was hard to celebrate and I could not hold back my tears all night in the hotel that night. But the pain I am feeling everyday is nothing compare to the Read more [...]

The Bright Light!

Two weeks out and the light at the end of the tunnel (or contest prep) is getting brighter! Just like I said a few weeks ago contest preps sure do fly by! I am truly amazed at how quickly time seems to pass when you are so busy with work, family, training, cardio, eating, and cooking. I swear eating and cooking is close to a full time job while prepping. Hany and I have really been fine tuning things here the last week and pretty much are on a day to day basis on how I look and my weight. I am Read more [...]

Going Harder Than Ever Two Weeks Out!

It’s July 16, Saturday morning. The weekends are when you have the opportunity to push a little harder and take your training to the next level. So that is the game plan for this couple of days. I am mostly focus on improving the condition of my glutes at this point, as I feel the other bodyparts are ready to hit the stage. At this point my body is getting very flat and the constant use of Cell K.E.M. and EVP is vital for me to keep my fullness. These supplements are carb-free and they can be Read more [...]

A Little Pain is Good!

Tough or tired …which are you? The battle of the last few weeks of contest prep for me, and probably any other competitor out there is, the feeling of being tired, over trained, and just mentally exhausted. You have to be mentally tough to get through, and to me I take the last few weeks one day at a time. When I look back at any contest that I have competed in or even on the day of the show; I’ve always said the same thing: “That prep flew by!” I was told by a friend who is one of the Read more [...]

Dieting is No Piece of Cake

Only 15 days left before I step on stage at the USA’s. That means it’s almost time to “reload” the Razor! After a few days in San Jose under the eyes of Hany, I am back in LA more determine than ever to set up my conditioning for the stage. These last days, the battle to get rid of the little bit of fat left are extremely cruel, as the body is fighting to keep its reserves of energy. The Step Mill today was brutal; my legs were trembling and the nausea immediately set in and tortured me Read more [...]

Sharpening Up the Razor 6 Weeks Out!

We are 6 weeks out and the diet continues to push me harder and harder. Hany has increased my cardio and decreased my carb intake. This will obviously facilitate fat loss, but will also make the work outs more challenging. At this stage it is fundamental to maintain lifting as heavy as possible so I don’t lose muscle mass. I am not just trying to get lean, but instead bring a level of condition that is unmatched. This requires a level of suffering and sacrifice that is much more challenging that Read more [...]
