Pushing To The MAX!

Now that I am in full prep mode for the USA’s held in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 29-30, 2011, I always try to make sure I push myself to the max. I set new goals each week to see if I can beat what I have done in the past. Every year I get ready to compete in shows, my body changes as different bodyparts seem to really respond and grow.

This year, from 10 weeks out through to about seven weeks out, it seems that my strength has really started to peak. Every once in a while you get those workouts where you feel really good, and you have to capitalize on those days, especially when you’re dieting. I had a day like this at about the 9 week out mark, and it was one of the craziest chest days I’ve ever had.

Training at Metroflex Plano has a hardcore atmosphere unlike no other. I was on my last set of incline dumbbell presses when I looked over at the 180’s as I felt extra strong that day. I told myself, “It’s time you jump to the uncharted territory and go for the 200’s!” I set my mind right, threw up one dumbbell at a time to my chest, and pressed until I couldn’t press anymore. I must have partially blacked out during the set, as I only thought I got 2 or 3 reps; but when I dropped the weights, my training partners said: “Damn that was insane, you got 7 reps with that!”

Since I started using Evogen products, I find my focus and pumps have been extremely consistent, and my drive throughout my workout is the best it’s ever been. This particular workout, I utilized EVP preworkout and Evogen’s newest product, GlycoJect (carb powder). I took two scoops of EVP and two scoops of GlycoJect, to make sure my energy levels and body was as anabolic as I could possibly make it.

Every time I watch the video it looks way too easy. I guess I should work on my facial expressions a little more to make it look harder on video when I push myself to the max!
