The son of a “fitness fanatic”, Johnathan Irizarry remembers reading every fitness magazine his mom would leave around the house. But he didn't decide to compete in bodybuilding until he sat in the audience at the 2005 Europa Super Show. There was only problem — he only weighed 160 pounds.

That problem was solved quickly, as Jonathan managed to transform his body in only two months of serious training, gaining 25 pounds in eight weeks. With the help of Ronnie Coleman’s former training partner and NPC national-level competitor Robert Lee, Jonathan decided to kick his competiton plans into high gear.

He competed in his first contest at the age of 17. Since then, he’s racked up 5 wins, including the biggest of his young career at the 2011 NPC Collegiate National Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jonathan is currently a biology student at the University of Texas at Dallas. He’ll look to continue his competitive success at a national-level NPC contest in 2013.
